Purpose: Northbrook Middle School Art Club’s purpose is to allow students who are interested in art to participate in independent and collaborative art related activities. The Art Club is a place for students to continue developing their artistic skills, explore new art mediums, and collaborate with other creative individuals to enrich their school and community. 

Planned Activities: Students will explore different media, techniques and tools while using their artistic abilities to create art for themselves, competitions, community, and fundraisers.

How to Join: The club is open to all students, but space is limited (Only 50 SPOTS AVAILABLE). There is a $25.00 fee for the cost of supplies. This must be paid through MyPaymentsPlus. Permission slips and fees are due by _______. Making your payment online locks in your spot.

Purpose: Heart & Sole is an after school program that helps develop girls’ confidence with a curriculum that creatively integrates running. We aim to help girls activate their limitless potential. Girls in grades 6-8 are welcome to participate. The team is limited to 20 participants selected by a lottery system implemented by Girls on the Run Georgia. Registration for the team can be found on girlsontherunga.org. We have two seasons: one in the Fall (beginning in September) and one in the Spring (beginning in February). Both seasons culminate with a celebratory 5k! Girls on the Run Georgia has a sliding scale for cost based on each family’s income. The cost covers 5k registration, 2 program shirts, a water bottle, snacks for practice, and running gear, if needed by the participant. No girl will ever be turned away based on inability to pay, so please see Coach Becca Rackley (Becca.Rackley@gcpsk12.org) with any questions.

Planned Activities: Girls will meet twice a week after school to make connections, learn important life skills, get active and HAVE FUN! At the end of the season, girls will celebrate their accomplishment at the Girls on the Run 5K.

Purpose: The Robotics Club offers middle school athletes in grades 6–8 an exciting opportunity to work in teams to build and program LEGO robots that complete a variety of missions. Through this hands-on experience, students develop critical thinking, coding, engineering, teamwork, and communication skills in a fun and engaging environment that encourages friendly competition. The club’s primary goal is to help students explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts by tackling annual, real-world challenges that spark creativity and problem-solving. Participation is limited to 10 students, due to F.L.L. competition regulations. The cost to join is $50, which covers a club t-shirt, food during meetings and events, and all necessary equipment.

Purpose: This club is a platform for students with a common interest in board games & chess to come together, have fun, and build relationships. The Strategists Club encourages creativity and confidence by bringing people together to boost strategic thinking skills, cooperation, and social interaction.

Planned Activities: Students will play chess and a variety of board games (checkers, Uno, Phase 10, Connect 4, etc.).

Purpose: Northbrook Middle School’s FBLA organization inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation, leadership experiences, and collaboration with other like-minded individuals to enrich their school and community. Seeking to develop a culture in which all are welcome, have complete opportunity, and are actively engaged.

Planned Activities: Students will gain leadership skills, compete in regional, state and national events, create a professional development program, and establish a strong footprint in the community through charitable service projects.

Planned Activities: All students (grades 6 - 8) will compete in a local school science fair in January 2026. Selected students will advance to the 48th Annual Gwinnett Regional Science Engineering + Innovation Fair @ Gas South District, Duluth, Ga on Friday, February 27, 2026

Purpose: Crochet Club is a welcoming space where students can express themselves creatively through the fiber arts. The club’s primary goal is to teach basic crocheting skills to beginners while also helping more experienced crocheters improve their techniques. Open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, Crochet Club encourages artistic exploration and hands-on learning in a supportive environment. Participation is limited to 30 students to ensure personalized instruction and a comfortable group setting.

Cost to Join: $20, includes a beginner crochet kit. The kit contains four balls of yarn (one variegated and three solid colors, a 4mm crochet hook, a plastic knitting needle, three locking stitch markers, six animal eyes in three different sizes, and a bag of stuffing. Everything needed to start creating fun and imaginative crochet projects.

Purpose: Winter guard is a performance based organization where members will learn guard skills that will be highlighted in a choreographed routine. The group will have at least 2 opportunities to perform their learned routine. The skills learned will be dancing and flag spinning.  Our goal is build confidence and encourage team work as well as foster a love for creative performance.
